About Us
Founded in 2016 by Principal Faye Michelle Quinney, a Carl Alan Award winner, Studio84 is quickly becoming Derby’s go-to centre for theatrical and freestyle arts training.
We are proud to offer expert tuition across a wide range of disciplines, including Acting, Acrobatics, Commercial Street, Ballet, Freestyle, Lyrical, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Tap, and Singing. All classes are led by qualified industry professionals and operate under esteemed associations such as I.D.T.A, I.S.T.D, A.D.F.P, and L.A.M.D.A.
Our classes are designed to be fun and safe, providing pupils not only with the technical skills required for the performing arts industry but also helping to build confidence, spark creativity, develop social skills, and foster lifelong friendships.
Beyond weekly lessons, we offer exciting opportunities such as auditions, examinations, competitions, festivals, performances, and annual showcases. Our Theatre Dance Team and Freestyle Competition Squad have achieved remarkable success, earning multiple titles, finalists’ placements, and championship wins. We also boast a 100% pass rate in our yearly examination sessions.
Many of our students have gone on to audition successfully for professional productions at venues such as Derby Theatre, Derby Live, Derby Arena, Theatre Royal Nottingham, and Nottingham Playhouse, as well as TV and feature film roles.
Studio84 students have also secured prestigious placements at institutions including The Royal Ballet Associates, Tring Park School, The Hammond School, Elmhurst Associates, Expressions Performing Arts College, The Jazz Associates, Ballet Theatre UK, Midland Theatre Ballet, Studio79, Central Television Workshop, AGF Agency, and Scream Talent Management.
