Duncan’s love for singing began early in life, when he joined his mother in a local church choir. Shortly after joining he auditioned for many “Choir Schools” around the country including Kings and Eton.
From the age of six Duncan has performed on stage, starting out his glorious career as Boy #1 and Shrub in a local (Suffolk) production of Christopher Robin.
Duncan was selected for the Canterbury Cathedral Choir at the age of 7.
Duncan sang in the Young Musician of the Year, toured the USA and many European cities with Canterbury Cathedral choir and has performed on Michael Barrymore’s ‘My Kind of Music’ and in the Albert Hall with the vocal group Voice Squad.
He later continued his training with Birmingham Conservatoire where he studied Classical Music and Opera.
Duncan can be seen in many concerts or amateur theatre productions throughout the year, accumulating 30 years of experience.
Over the years, this journey has seen him play such roles as, Pirelli, Anthony and The Judge in Sweeny Todd, Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Darryl Van Horne in The Witches of Eastwick and Aeneas in a professional production of Dido and Aeneas.
Duncan plays 6 instruments (Piano, Ukulele, Guitar, Tenor Saxophone, Oboe and Vocals) some he plays well, some ok, some brilliantly (he will let you be the judge which is which!)
In more recent times Duncan has been invited as a guest singer with Derby Concert Band and was a tutor with Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA)
He has directed a production of Oklahoma!, sung professionally with a male quartet vocal group, played in the orchestral pit for a number of companies and will soon be Stage Manager for Phantom of the Opera.
He has been giving private singing lessons for two years and has just finished filming for a musical film written and produced by local playwrights. He is currently working on two shows for the latter part of this year; a local production of Seussical the Musical and a semi-professional Christmas concert.
Duncan also has experience in working with children and young people; he has been Wave Leader for a number of years with the National Citizen Service (NCS), has qualifications in education including a degree in Child and Youth Studies and has recently been giving cookery classes to 2 – 12 year olds with a local company.
