Studio84 follow the I.D.T.A (International Dance Teachers Association) syllabus for all of its Theatrical and Freestyle examinations s http://www.idta.co.uk
Our Acting and Musical Theatre syllabus and exams are governed by L.A.M.D.A (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) http://www.lamda.org.uk
All of our examining boards have received OFQUAL accreditation (Office of the qualifications and examinations regulator) and are now included on the Qualifications Credit Framework (QCF), providing equivalence with mainstream school qualifications. This means that the points our puils gain from taking anyone of our exams can be used on UCAS and university applications.
Studio84 is a registered school within the A.D.F.P (The association of dance freestyle professionals), which is the board we compete under and in which Miss Faye regularly judges as a Championship Adjudicator.
We attend regional, British & World Championship events as well as monthly trophy days around the UK.
For all information on freestyle comps and its rules please see: http://www.adfp.co.uk
Dancers will need to be invited to join the S84 Stars Squad, attend the freestyle competition class, have routine’s choreographed and regularly updated and be enrolled to compete by Miss Faye.
Please ask if you are interested.
Studio84 attends regular stage dance festivals through out the year, all held in and around the UK.
Pupils will need to attend our core theatre subjects (Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Musical Theatre & Acro) to be able to be entered for theatrical festivals.
Sections we compete in are:
Ballet, Character, Greek, National, Lyrical, Modern, Song & Dance, Tap & Acro, and as a soloist, duet, trio or troupe.
Each routine will be performed in a theatre, to an audience, to which the adjudicator will be place depending on scores of technique & performance.
